SNVN carries a deeper
cultural undertone. It reflects a post-colonial voice—one that acknowledges the Victorian era's influence on global fashion while refusing to be defined by it. Indian hands reinterpret Western form, shifting power from origin to maker, from empire to artisan.
We started with a spark—standing inside the museums of London, looking at Victorian corsets that once shaped history. Their structure, detail, and elegance stayed with us. We wondered: what if this iconic silhouette could be reinvented for today, especially for Indian women? That question became our beginning, and SNVN was born.
Hand embroidery, ancestral techniques, and regional textiles soften rigid Western frameworks. These crafts, rooted in community and continuity, resist uniformity. They introduce breath, imperfection, and life into garments that were once about rigidity and rule. Indian hands rewriting Western history by replacing craft colonial dominance. SNVN takes the corset-once a tool of
confinement-and transforms it into a structure of choice. Boning becomes support, not suppression. Form becomes expression, not obedience. What was once imposed is now intentional.
